Final Flood Warning for the Mulgrave River

Minor flood levels have eased in the Mulgrave River.

Rainfall totals of 100-250 mm have been recorded in the Mulgrave River catchment since 9:00 am Sunday. The heavy rainfall has now eased over the catchment with showers expected to continue during the remainder of Monday.
The Mulgrave River at Peets Bridge peaked below the minor flood level during Monday and is currently at 3.55 metres and falling. The Mulgrave River at Peets Bridge is likely to remain below the minor flood level (5.00 m) during Monday, however renewed rises below the minor flood level are possible with further rainfall.

This is a final warning, no further warnings will be issued for this event.

Minor Flood Warning for the Tully and Murray Rivers

River levels rises are occurring along the Tully and Murray Rivers with minor flooding possible overnight Monday into Tuesday.

Rainfall totals of 130-350 mm have been recorded in the Tully and Murray River catchments since 9:00am Sunday. The heavy rainfall is easing over the catchments with showers expected to continue during the remainder of Monday.
The Tully River at Euramo is currently at 5.53 metres and rising. A flood peak around the minor flood level (6.00 m) is expected in the Tully River at Euramo during Monday evening. The Murray River at Murray Flats is currently at 4.55 metres and rising. River levels at Murray Flats may reach the minor flood level (7.00 m) overnight Monday into Tuesday.

The next warning will be issued by 09:00 am EST on Tuesday 11 December 2018.

Flood Watch for the North Tropical Coast and southern Cape York Peninsula

River level rises above the minor flood level are possible across the Flood Watch area early this week. Heavy rainfall associated with ex-tropical cyclone Owen is expected to continue along the North Tropical Coast for the remainder of Monday. The focus of the heaviest rainfall will follow the path of ex-tropical cyclone Owen inland over the next few days. Localised falls in excess of 300 mm have fallen across parts of the North Tropical Coast during the weekend, which has started to wet catchments. A severe weather warning for heavy rainfall during Monday afternoon is current for areas between Port Douglas and Ingham. Heavy rainfall is expected from Monday in the southern Cape York Peninsula catchments. Heavy rainfall may also lead to local flooding.
