Final Flood Warning for the Mulgrave and Russell Rivers

Strong river level rises have been observed in the Mulgrave and Russell Rivers early Thursday morning, and are now steady or easing.

Since 9am Wednesday heavy rainfall totals of 100 to 250 mm have been recorded in the catchment. Rainfall rates have eased during Thursday morning, with around 5-10 mm of rainfall recorded in the catchment since 9am.
The Mulgrave River at Peets Bridge peaked at 4.33 metres around 08:30 am Thursday 19 October and is currently at 3.60 metres and falling. The Mulgrave River at Peets Bridge is expected to remain below the minor flood level (5.00 m) during Thursday. The Mulgrave River at Gordonvale peaked at 10.10 metres around 10:15 am Thursday 19 October and is currently at 10.00 metres and falling. The Mulgrave River at Gordonvale is expected to remain below the minor flood level (12.00 m) during Thursday.

Moderate Flood Warning for the Burnett River

Moderate flood levels have peaked at Eidsvold Bridge. Minor flood levels are expected downstream to Walla into the weekend.

No further significant rainfall is expected across the catchment area in the next few days.
The Burnett River at Eidsvold Bridge peaked at 10.90 metres during Thursday morning. The river level is currently at 10.75 metres and falling. The river levels are expected to remain above the moderate flood level (9.00 m) Thursday afternoon and evening. The Burnett River at Mundubbera is currently at 9.02 metres and near a peak. River levels will remain above the minor flood level during Thursday afternoon and evening.. A minor peak is likely in the Burnett River at Gayndah overnight Thursday into Friday. The Burnett River at Walla is currently at 5.66 metres and steady. The Burnett River at Walla is expected to remain around the minor flood level (6.00 m) during Thursday extending into the weekend as flood waters arrive from upstream. River levels at Bundaberg are expected to remain below the minor flood level.

Major flood levels are slowly easing in the Baffle Creek catchment. Moderate flood levels are also easing along the Kolan River.

No further significant rainfall is expected over the next few days.
The Kolan River at Bucca Weir is currently at 18.81 metres and falling. The Kolan River at Bucca Weir is expected to fall below the moderate flood level (18.50 m) Thursday afternoon or early evening The Baffle Creek at Essendean Bridge is currently at 13.67 metres and falling. River levels are expected to remain above the major flood level (12.00 m) during most of Thursday evening, then to ease to moderate overnight Thursday.

Minor flood levels are expected to be slowly easing at Gympie.

No further significant rainfall is expected in the next few days.
The Mary River at Dagun Pocket is currently at 5.80 metres and falling. The Mary River at Dagun Pocket is expected to remain below the minor flood level (7.00 m) during Thursday. The river level at Gympie is expected to be around the minor flood level (6.00 metres), easing slowly during Thursday. The Mary River at Miva is currently at 8.06 metres and steady. The Mary River at Miva is expected to remain around the minor flood level (7.50 m) during Thursday evening, and then likely to fall below minor during Friday morning. The Mary River at Tiaro is currently at 6.60 metres and steady. The Mary River at Tiaro is expected to remain above the minor flood level (6.00 m) during Thursday, and then likely to fall below minor during Friday. The Mary River at Maryborough is not expected to exceed the minor flood level (5.00 metres).
