Great Barrier Reef Offshore Waters: Bowen to Yeppoon

A weak ridge of high pressure extends over north Queensland waters. A surface trough lies through the northern and central interior of Queensland and will remain slow moving during today before shifting further northeast into the northeastern interior on Friday. A coastal trough and an associated southerly wind change will most likely extend north through Mackay and Townsville waters during Friday morning. A high pressure centre over southern Australia will then extend a firm ridge into north Queensland waters over the weekend.
