Gold Coast Waters: Cape Moreton to Point Danger

A weak ridge of high pressure extends through the southern Queensland waters. A surface trough lies through the southeastern interior of Queensland and will shift eastwards through today, most likely reaching Gold Coast waters late this evening. The trough should then progress north to Fraser Island through early Friday and through Capricornia waters on Friday morning. A high pressure centre over southern Australia will extend a fresh to strong southerly wind flow into southern waters in the wake of this trough during Friday and Saturday.
