Weather Situation

A high over New South Wales will move to the northeast over the next few days and weaken a little. The high will maintain a ridge along the east Queensland coast.

Wind gusts can be 40 percent stronger than the averages given

here, and maximum waves may be up to twice the height

Fraser Island Waters, Sandy Cape to Double Island Point:

Thursday until midnight: Winds: SE 10 to 15 knots. Seas: 1.2 metres. Swell: S to SE 2 metres. Scattered showers.

Friday: Winds: SE 10 to 15 knots reaching 15 to 20 knots at times during the morning. Seas: 1.2 to 1.7 metres. Swell: Less than 1.5 metres. Scattered showers.

Saturday: Winds: SE 10 to 15 knots.

Sunday: Winds: SE 10 to 15 knots.

Hervey Bay Waters:

Thursday until midnight: Winds: SE 10 to 15 knots, reaching 15 to 20 knots at times over the northern Bay. Seas: 1.5 metres in the northern bay. Scattered showers.

Friday: Winds: SE 10 to 15 knots, reaching 15 to 20 knots at times over the northern Bay mainly during the morning. Lighter S to SW winds over the western Bay until late morning. Seas: 1.5 metres in the northern bay. Scattered showers.

Saturday: Winds: SE 10 to 15 knots.

Sunday: Winds: SE 10 to 15 knots.
