PART 2 SITUATION At 181800UTC. Near stationary ridge axis near 20S149E to 17S170E.

PART 3 FORECAST North of 8S. Mostly variable winds 5 to 15 knots with smooth to slight seas. Winds tending SE and reaching 15 to 25 knots in the Vitiaz Strait with moderate to rough seas. Scattered showers, isolated thunderstorms and rain areas. South of 8S and north of ridge axis. Mostly E to SE winds 15 to 25 knots with moderate to rough seas. Winds tending S to SE 10 to 20 knots with slight to moderate seas within 100NM of ridge. Winds north of 13S and east of 160E tending E to SE 10 to 20 knots with slight to moderate seas. Low to moderate S to SE swells. Isolated showers, tending to scattered showers, isolated thunderstorms and rain areas north of 12S. South of ridge axis. Mostly SE to SW winds 10 to 20 knots with slight to moderate seas. Winds south of 25S and east of 160E tending W to SW and reaching 20 to 30 knots with rough seas. Winds south of 25S within 100NM of coastline increasing to 15 to 25 knots from 190600UTC with moderate to rough seas, and reaching 20 to 30 knots with rough seas from 190900UTC till 191800UTC. Moderate S to SW swells south of 22S. Isolated showers.
