Weather Situation
A high [1020 hPa] over southern Queensland will move slowly eastwards, maintaining a ridge along Queensland's north tropical coast and a SE to NE flow over the Gulf. A trough is expected to move northeast through Gulf of Carpentaria waters very early on Thursday.
Northeast Gulf, North of Cape Keer-Weer:
Tuesday until midnight: Winds: Northeast to southeasterly 15 to 20 knots. Seas: Up to 1 metre, increasing to 1 to 1.5 metres later in the evening. Swell: Northeasterly around 1 metre.
Wednesday: Winds: East to southeasterly 10 to 15 knots. Seas: 1 to 1.5 metres, decreasing below 1 metre around midday. Swell: Northeasterly around 1 metre.
Thursday: Winds: East to southeasterly 10 to 15 knots tending south to southeasterly 15 to 20 knots in the middle of the day.
Friday: Winds: South to southeasterly 15 to 25 knots. Seas: 1.5 to 2.5 metres.
