Synoptic Situation
A monsoon trough lies through northern QLD near Cooktown and connects to a weak low in the Coral Sea. The trough will move north over the next couple of days. A high in the eastern Tasman Sea extends a ridge along the Queensland central coast. The ridge will strengthen on Friday as another high moves into the Tasman Sea.

Nil.

North Tropical Waters, Cooktown to Cardwell:
Wednesday until midnight: S/SE winds 10/15 knots, tending SW near Cooktown. Inshore NE sea breezes 10/15 knots. Seas to 1.2 metres outside the reef and to 0.7 metres inside reef. Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms. Rain areas in the north.
Thursday: S/SE winds 10/15 knots, tending SW near Cooktown. Inshore afternoon NE sea breezes 10/15 knots. Seas to 1.2 metres outside the reef and 0.7 metres inside the reef. Showers and isolated thunderstorms. Rain areas in the north.
Friday: SE/E winds 10/15 knots.
Saturday: SE winds 10/15 knots.
