Weather Situation

A high [1023 hPa] will move slowly east over southern Queensland during Tuesday and Wednesday. A trough will move across Queensland from the southwest during Wednesday, passing through central coast waters during Thursday morning.

North Tropical Waters, Cooktown to Cardwell:

Monday until midnight: Winds: North of Cairns: SE 15 to 20 knots. South of Cairns: SE 10 to 15 knots. Seas: 1.2 to 1.7 metres outside the reef, 0.7 to 1.2 metres inside the reef. Swell: Less than 1.5 metres. Isolated showers.

Tuesday: Winds: North of Cairns: SE 10 to 15 knots. South of Cairns: SE to NE 5 to 10 knots. Seas: 0.7 to 1.2 metres outside the reef, 0.7 metres inside the reef. Swell: Less than 1.5 metres. Isolated showers.

Wednesday: Winds: SE to NE 10 to 15 knots.

Thursday: Winds: North of Cairns: SE to NE 5 to 10 knots. South of Cairns: NE to NW 5 to 10 knots, ahead of a 15 to 20 knot SW to SE change during the afternoon and evening.
