Synoptic Situation
A high over the southern Coral Sea will maintain a firm ridge over the tropical
Queensland coast.

Warnings
A Strong Wind Warning is current for waters between Torres Strait and Cooktown.

North Tropical Waters, Cooktown to Cardwell:
Thursday until midnight: Wind: SE 15/20 knots north of Cairns, 10/15 knots south of Cairns. Sea: 1.2 to 1.7 metres outside the reef, 0.7 to 1.2 metres inside the reef. Isolated showers.
Friday: Wind: E/SE 15/20 knots north of Cairns, 10/15 knots south of Cairns. Lighter winds inshore early. Sea: 1.2 to 1.7 metres outside the reef, 0.7 to 1.2 metres inside the reef. Isolated showers.
Saturday: Wind: E/SE 10/15 knots, reaching 15/20 knots at times offshore north of Cairns. Lighter winds inshore early.
Sunday: Wind: E/SE 10/15 knots, reaching 15/20 knots at times offshore.
