A ridge of high pressure is building over northern Queensland waters as a high deepens in the Great Australian Bight.
Tropical Waters, Cardwell to Bowen:
Thursday until midnight: Winds: Southeast to southwesterly 10 to 15 knots. Seas: Less than 1 metre. Swell: Less than 1 metre. Light rain areas.
Friday: Winds: Southerly 15 to 20 knots. Seas: 1 to 1.5 metres. Swell: Less than 1 metre.
Saturday: Winds: South to southeasterly 15 to 20 knots.
Sunday: Winds: Southeasterly 20 to 25 knots, increasing to 25 to 30 knots during the afternoon.
