Synoptic Situation

A weak trough over Peninsula waters is expected to move north over the next couple of days. A large high in the Great Australian Bight is expected to increase SE winds to the south of the trough.

Warnings

A strong wind warning has been issued for waters between Cooktown and St Lawrence for Thursday.

Central Coast Waters, Bowen to St Lawrence: A strong wind warning has been issued for Thursday

Wednesday until midnight: Wind: SE 15/20 knots, increasing to 20/25 knots offshore in the evening. Sea: 2.2 metres in open waters. Scattered showers.

Thursday: Wind: SE 20/25 knots, increasing to 25/33 knots during the day. Sea: 2.5 metres in open waters. Scattered showers.

Friday: Wind: SE 25/35 knots.

Saturday: Wind: SE 25/35 knots.
