Dive report - Lady Elliot to Byron Bay

These dive reports are the latest information available from dive charter operators between Lady Elliot Island and Byron Bay. Experienced divers will be aware that visibility and water temperature can change at any time, due to ocean currents or changing weather conditions and sea state, so although these reports are given to us in good faith, there is no guarantee that dive conditions will remain the same. However, it is a good guide to what’s been happening and does put you in touch with dive operators who you can call for more specific information about the dive sites in the reports.

Diving videos

Great dive sites

In 1994 Clint Hempsall     was teaching people to dive on Lady Elliot Island. His natural talent with a camera scored him a job on Brownies Coastwatch and for the next five years he shot, produced and presented almost 300 Queensland and Pacific Islands dive site profiles for the show. Enjoy his excellent work.    GO>>

Creature feature videos

Creature features

These videos on the creatures often encountered along the Queensland coast are terrific to show to kids so they learn about and develop an understanding of the marine environment. A lot of them are the work of Clint Hempsall     and there is a series on Moreton Bay creatures from naturalist Neville Coleman.      GO>>
