Q: My video started to play and then keeps stopping and starting.

A: These videos are high quality and to see them at their best requires a fast internet connection.  If the video is stopping and starting, your internet connection is too slow for the job and you have two courses of action.  The simplest is to click the video pause button and wait a few moments for the video to download and then push play again.  Another solution is to consider upgrading to a faster internet connection if it is available and affordable.

Q: The video starts to download, then the video screen goes white and nothing happens.

A: Firstly, you may need to update your Flash Player. Go here http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/ and it will download the best version for your computer. Note: you may need to then Refresh (F5) the Coastwatch page you are trying to see the video on! This problem can also occur for users trying to watch the videos at work.  Some employers block content containing video for internet security reasons.  If this is the case, there is no solution other than to watch them at home.

Q: I can’t hear any sound.

A: Check that you have speakers connected and they are turned on.

Q: I came onto the site to watch a video I saw on there a while ago and it is not there now.

A: All videos change on Thursday afternoon every week.  Videos that have been featured on the site, then move the video vaults and can be watched there. Boating videos | Surfing videos | Fishing Videos | Diving videos | Cooking videos
