There’s nothing more terrifying than an explosion and fire on a boat.

Thankfully, they don’t happen every day, but do occur often enough to make it worth your while to be aware of how easy boat fires can start, the most common causes, and things you can do the minimise the risk.

Moreton Bay Marine Park Zoning Plan review

The new zoning plan for Moreton Bay Marine Park is now available.

NOTE: The new zoning plan will come into effect on 1 March 2009 and will be enforced from this date. The current zoning plan will remain in effect and continue to be enforced until that time.

Over the coming months, the EPA will be installing signs and markers, and distributing a range of information including maps and brochures to help you navigate the marine park and identify the new zones.

Trial artificial reef program

A $1 million trial artificial reef program is underway in Moreton Bay Marine Park to provide recreational anglers with alternative fishing locations.

Structural Adjustment Package (SAP) for commercial fisheries

A $14 million Structural Adjustment Package is being implemented to minimise the costs of the new zoning plan on commercial fisheries operating in the marine park.
